 At West Hollywood Children’s Academy, we believe that the parent-child bond is the most powerful foundation for early learning. Our Parent & Me program is designed to nurture that bond — creating a space where you and your toddler can explore, play, and discover the joy of learning together in a warm, professionally guided environment.

What Is the Parent & Me Program?

 Parent & Me is a weekly, play-based class for toddlers and their caregiving parent or guardian. Running 1 hour 20 minutes per session, the class welcomes children who are not yet ready for independent enrollment, giving them their very first experience in a structured group setting — with the comfort and reassurance of you by their side.

This is not a drop-off program. It’s an invitation for you to be an active participant in your child’s earliest learning experiences — and to leave each session with new tools and insights for supporting your child at home.

Each session is thoughtfully crafted to engage toddlers across multiple areas of development. 

 

Through a blend of guided and open-ended activities, children are invited to:

Explore through art — Sensory-rich art activities introduce color, texture, and creative expression without any expectation of a “finished product.” The focus is always on the process, not the result.

Move to music — Rhythm, song, and movement are woven throughout each class. Music builds language, coordination, and emotional attunement in ways that feel effortless and joyful to young children.

Engage their senses — Carefully curated sensorial activities stimulate curiosity and help toddlers make sense of the world around them through touch, sight, sound, and more.

Take their first social steps — In a small, nurturing group setting, toddlers begin to notice other children, share space, and experience the early seeds of friendship and community.

Dance and move freely — Gross motor play and expressive movement let toddlers release energy, build body awareness, and experience pure, unstructured joy.

What Parents Take Away

 

While your child plays and explores, you’ll be learning too. Our experienced educators guide parents in understanding what each activity is developing — the “why” behind the play — and offer practical, take-home strategies for extending learning into daily life.

Who Is This Program For?

Parent & Me is ideal for children ages 15 months + who are beginning to explore group settings for the first time. It’s also a wonderful bridge for families considering full enrollment at WHCA, giving children a gentle, familiar introduction to our teachers, our space, and our philosophy before their first independent school day.

The class is limited in size to ensure every family receives personal attention and every child feels seen, safe, and celebrated.
